Health Assessment of Eastern Indigo Snakes

The Avian & Wildlife Laboratory was a proud collaborator in a 4 year study of the eastern indigo snake in southeastern Georgia. Published in the December issue of the Journal of Zoo & Wildlife Medicine, this study defined many clinical pathology and nutritional parameters. The overall health status in these free ranging snakes was found to be good. It is hoped that this data will aid in conservation efforts of this threatened species.

See the complete study in JZWM 47(4):1000-1012, 2016. Many thanks to our collaborators.
